Day: Friday Date: July 5 Opponent: Fort Smith Marshals Location: Crowder Field, Fort Smith, Arkansas Weather: Clear, 85 degrees Final Score: Marshals 10 TimberHogs 0 W-L: Marshals 17-16 (2nd) TimberHogs 17-17 (4th) Summary ● The TimberHogs faced the Marshals in Fort Smith, Arkansas tonight. ● Gage Goddard got the start for the ‘Hogs and picked up seven strikeouts. ● Juan Murillo and Karsten Fidler started the game with back to back singles but were both left stranded. ● Goddard and the TimberHogs’ defense held the Marshals scoreless through three innings. ● Fidler singled to left field in the fourth but the ‘Hogs couldn’t bring him in. ● Goddard struck out three in the bottom of the fourth, but the Marshals put up four runs. ● The Marshals extended their lead in the fifth to 6-0. ● Cade Cunningham took over the mound in the sixth, and held the Marshals scoreless through two innings. ● The Marshals added four more in the bottom of the eighth. ● The TimberHogs will play the Marshals again tomorrow night at Crowder Field.
